Waste Recycling over Christmas and New Year

10 Dec 2011

Dubliin City Council Clontarf WasteA Green Christmas and Happy New Year!

This leaflet from DCC sets out the waste management arrangements for householders over the Christmas and New Year period. The following points are of note for Clontarf residents:

Black and Brown Bins :  The collection dates remain the same for your area in Clontarf.  Remember, the brown bins are to be used to recycle all food and garden waste.  This saves money and is good for the environment.

Green Bins: Christmas time puts an extra load on the Green bins and so in addition to the normal collections, DCC advise that up until the 13th January 2012, any additional dry material will be collected, provided it is stacked and ready for collection in a neat and secure manner.  For details on what materials can be placed in the Green bin collection, please see www.greenbin.ie.

Christmas Trees: Once Christmas is over, make use of the free Christmas tree collection provided by DCC from the 3rd – 22nd January.   There are 13 collection points across the city, and for residents of Clontarf the collection point is at the car park on the Clontarf Road, beside the former traffic school.

Glass:  Clontarf residents can recycle their glass over the busy Christmas period, with three banks located in Nolans Shopping Centre, on Dollymount Park, beside St. Gabriels Church, and beside Spar, on the Stiles Road.  Please remember to bring home your boxes and bags after recycling your materials.
