The Countdown to Christmas in Clontarf begins!

16 Dec 2011

Christmas in Clontarf With only ten days to go, or nine more sleeps!, Christmas is really around the corner now.  There’s a buzz in the air, and what better way to get in the festive spirit than to enjoy a local drink or bite to eat at any one of the many local venues in Clontarf.  Our entertainment guide has all the details for you.

If you haven’t finished your gift shopping, before you brace yourself for the maddening crowds of town, consider your local shops.  There’s great special offers available on your doorstep, including beauty vouchers and products, hampers, treats and many more.... just check out our gift guide for Clontarf.

Don’t forget that Nolan’s of Clontarf are open this Sunday 18th December to make it easier for all of us to stock up on groceries for Christmas.  Remember, Christmas is a busy time so if you are just popping in for a few items, think about walking or cycling to your local shop – not only good for the environment but good for you too!

Carol singing is the ideal way to get into the Christmas spirit, and there’s a great choice in Clontarf this weekend, kicking off with the Seafield Singers on Friday, the Simon Community on Saturday, and over four days next week the cabaret, ‘Away in a Manger’ is running in the Viking Theatre.

We all know the difficult times we live in but it’s the little things that help make a day better, so let’s keep the stress levels down this year by making sure to use the correct parking facilities (even it means an extra walk), and not double parking in congested areas.   If you do find yourself caught in some traffic, be patient.

Finally, don’t forget to enjoy the beautiful scenery on our doorstep this weekend and throughout Christmas.  The forecast for Saturday and Sunday is for cold but dry weather, so why not take the time to enjoy a walk or cycle in St. Anne’s Park, or on Dollymount Beach, or on the promenade.
