The Clontarf Yacht & Boat Club Celebrates 150 Years with a Heritage Rowing Regatta
)
Get ready for a fantastic day on the water on Sunday, August 24th, as the Clontarf Yacht & Boat Club celebrates its 150th anniversary!
To mark this special milestone, the club is recreating a piece of its history with an invitational Heritage Rowing Regatta. The first-ever Regatta back in 1875 featured eight rowing races, and this event brings that tradition back to the Clontarf promenade.
This is a free community event for everyone to enjoy. You'll see racing from the slip to the baths and back, recreating the look and feel of a historic water event.
The fun kicks off with teams arriving from 10am, and the races will be held from 11.30am to 3.30pm. Afterwards, there will be a prize-giving at 4.15pm.
There will be music, an MC to guide you through the action, and delicious food from the 'Wing Man'.
Come on down and cheer on the crews! It's going to be a brilliant day out for the whole community.
