'That Field of Glory' Book Launch
Clontarf resident Colm Lennon is launching his book “That Field of Glory – the Story of Clontarf From Battleground to Garden Suburb” on Tuesday 10th June at 6pm in the Clasac, Alfie Byrne Road.
Colm is a retired professor from the department of History in NUI Maynooth and is a member of the Clontarf Historical Society, to which he is a frequent contributor. Colm recently took part in the Battle of Clontarf lecture series.
This book is the product of many years research into the locality. As well as giving a local history of Clontarf, the book also gives a local perspective on national developments.
Colm’s book tells the story of Clontarf from medieval to modern times, beginning with the events of 1014.
You are all welcome to attend this book launch on Tuesday evening. The guest speaker will be Professor Ray Gillespie, NUI Maynooth.
