St. John the Baptist Seafield Road to Celebrate 150 Years!

The Church of Ireland, Church of Saint John the Baptist, Seafield Road West, are celebrating 150 years this weekend, since the church first opened its doors on May 14th, 1866. 

To celebrate this wonderful anniversary, the church will host a flower festival this weekend, which will also include a special concert with popular soprano Cara O' Sullivan. 

The concert takes place this Friday 13th May at 8 pm to launch the festival, and will see Cara accompanied by Mairead Hurley and special guest Nicole Robinson. 

Tickets to this fabulous concert are €25, and can be booked by calling 087 9091561.

The Flower Festival will then kick-off on Saturday, May 14th starting at 10 am and finishing up at 7 pm. The festival will also take place Sunday 12 pm - 7 pm and Monday 10 am - 7 pm. 

Admission to the flower festival is €10. 

A special service will also take place on Sunday, 15th May, to mark the 150 year anniversary, with the Archbishops of Armagh and Dublin celebrating Holy Communion. Before the service, prayers will be said at the 'old church', the previous parish church in Clontarf Graveyard on Castle Avenue (beside the Castle Avenue 130 bus terminus).
