St John the Baptist Junior Boys' School Battle of Clontarf Exhibition
Over the past few weeks the boys of St. John the Baptist Junior Boys’ School have been doing lots of work on the topic of ‘The Battle of Clontarf’. To mark the millennium of this famous event in Irish history an exhibition of the boys’ art and project work was held in the school hall on Wed 9th April.
The boys’ enthusiasm and creativity were very much in evidence at the exhibition. Hundreds of pictures, projects and Viking longboat constructions were on display and were much admired and complimented on by the large number of parents, family members and friends who came to view the work.
Many visitors commented on the great variety of exhibits, the research done by the boys, the lovely sense of colour and vibrancy and particularly the huge range of imaginative approaches taken by the boys.
The boys themselves got a great sense of achievement from seeing their work on display and the exhibition was a fitting way to mark 1014 for these young residents of Clontarf in 2014.
Check out some of their great artwork below.
