St. Anne's Park Community Archaeology Programme 2022

The St Anne’s Park Community Archaeology Project is an action of the Dublin City Heritage Plan and is a joint initiative of the Heritage and Archaeology Sections of Planning and Property Development in partnership with the Parks, Biodiversity and Landscape Services Division.

The programme commenced with a pilot phase in 2021 and the production of a feasibility study to guide the growth and development of the initiative. In 2022, the programme includes events to coincide with the Rose Festival in June and an autumn programme described below.

  • Saturday 24th to Wednesday 28th September: What Lies Beneath? A community excavation of St Anne’s House
  • Saturday 24th September: Experimental Archaeology Day
  • Sunday 25th September: Geophysical surveying demonstration of St Anne’s House

The St Anne’s Park Community Archaeology Programme has received grant support from the Heritage Council’s County Heritage Plan grant scheme and the Creative Ireland Programme.

The programme is coordinated on behalf of Dublin City Council by Archaeology & Built Heritage Ltd.
