Sporting Hero Ellen Keane All Set for World Championships in Ireland!
Great interview with local sporting hero, Ellen Keane, ahead of the World Para-Swimming Championships which take place on her home turf of Dublin from 13th - 19th August at the National Aquatic Centre.
Ellen has competed in 3 Paralympics since the tender age of 13 in the 2008 Beijing Games and achieved her first podium placement in Rio 2016 with a bronze medal win.
This is Ireland's first time hosting a Paralympic event and is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who has never witnessed a Paralympic sport to get a glimpse into the hard work and dedication these athletes put into excelling in their sport. It's also a fantastic opportunity for children who have disabilities to be inspired by athletes with similar impairments to them, compete and a world-class level - and hopefully inspire a new generation of Paralympic athletes in Ireland!
Check out this video to see Ellen chat about her journey so far, and her fantastic interview with the Irish Times where she lists why you should make sure to catch the Games!
