Save Our Seafront this Mid-Term Break! Kids Competition

27 Oct 2011

At the public meeting two weeks ago we were delighted to see such a large turnout from the younger residents of Clontarf.

The ill-conceived flood defence plan has struck a chord with young and old and we are pleased to be able to provide such a united front in our opposition to the plan.

Following on from the public meeting, we would like to hear more from the children of school-going age in Clontarf. To this end we are today announcing a competition to run for the next week or so until Monday week, the 7th November.

Guidelines:

Entries can be a submission in the form of either

  • video
  • prose
  • poetry
  • photography
  • or combination of the above

The theme of the submission if of course the promenade, for example;

  • why the promenade is so important to Clontarf
  • how it's valued by your family
  • what it is you especially love about the prom

We thought that with many children on mid-term break next week, there would be plenty of opportunity to head down and enjoy our wonderful promenade and seek inspiration for the competition.

There will be prizes for the best submissions across different age categories and we also plan to publish some on our website and newsletter so we will also need parental permission for publication.

Closing date is Sunday 6th November. We will announce prizes later.
