Santa Claus Visit to Clontarf

14 Dec 2020

It’s safe to say that seeing Santa riding around with Harley bikers while being escorted by the Coast Guard, the Fire Brigade and Gardaí was a highlight of 2020.

Children missed out on their Santa visit this year but the event that happened on Sunday was enough to make them forget about it. Children weren’t the only ones in the family that enjoyed waving at Santa from their doorsteps.

People in our community came together to organise this festive event and we couldn’t go without saying a big thank you to those involved.

Thank you to Cycling Without Age Clontarf who pulled Santa through Clontarf and gave Rudolph and the others some rest so they would be in tip-top shape for Christmas.

Thank you to all the first responders involved, The Irish Coast Guard, An Garda Síochána, and Dublin Fire Brigade. They made sure everyone was safe and also made the parade brighter!

Thank you to the Harley Davidson Club for adding some noise and energy to the parade!

Thanks also to the Clontarf Residents’ Association for helping carry this out.

Last but not least, we owe a big thank you and maybe a virtual hug to Colm O’Brien and Fergus Cooney. Without them, this wouldn’t have gone ahead!
