S2S - Sea Defence Wall Works to Begin Monday 24th August
The following information has been provided by Ms. Elaine Mulvenny, Assistant Area Manager for Dublin City Council, regarding road works that will begin on the Dollymount end of the Clontarf Road, on Monday 24th August:
Works are to commence on the construction of the sea defence wall at the southern end of the S2S Interim Cycleway & Footway Scheme. The proposed works will begin 30m north of Dollymount Avenue and extend 60m south of Dollymount Park.
Traffic Management will be required to create a work zone area along the inbound lane for construction access. The work area shall be restricted to the 180m longitudinal sections on the carriageway with 6.75m two-way traffic maintained for the length of the works. Due to the reduced width of the road, roadside parking will not be available along this stretch of road with a continuation of yellow lines to be implemented from Seafield Road East as far as Dollymount Avenue.
Footpath closures to the eastern side of the carriageway will be extended from Mount Prospect Avenue to the Bull Road Junction, with diversions onto the western footpath via the controlled crossing south of the Bull road junction. Bus stops will be temporarily relocated along the affected route with directional signage and temporary bus stop signage erected to notify passengers.
Works are scheduled to begin on the 24th of August with completion at the end of October due to restrictions within the Lagoon area.
