Run, Walk or Push 10K for IWA this June

20 Mar 2013

Be apart of the Flora Women’s Mini Marathon and Run, Walk or Push 10K for Irish Wheelchair Association this June.

Every year, many women raise money for their favourite charity by participating in the Flora Women's Mini Marathon.

This year Irish Wheelchair Association (IWA) are hoping that ladies from Clontarf will select IWA as their charity of choice and join the local mini marathon team to raise funds for the services the Association provides to people with physical disabilities living in North Dublin.

The Flora Women's Mini Marathon is Ireland's largest one day charity event. Whether you are a seasoned runner or a leisurely stroller, the 10k route is ideal for all fitness levels. Many ladies choose to walk, run or push the distance with the IWA team.

The Flora Women's Mini Marathon will take place this year on the June Bank Holiday, Monday June 3rd. It will start at 2pm from Fitzwilliam Square, Dublin 2, and will finish at St. Stephen’s Green, Dublin 2. The total distance is 10K. Entry is now open and all local women can now register here.

Charlene Hurley, IWA Fundraising Coordinator invites all local women to register today on www.florawomensminimarathon.ie. Speaking about the event she said, ‘Bank Holiday Monday 3rd June will be a hive of activity in Dublin and with over 40,000 ladies taking part it is sure to be enjoyable. You can either walk or run the marathon and take part as a single individual or get your friends together and make it an annual occasion. To help make raising the funds easy, Irish Wheelchair Association are offering the lady who raises the most funds a free weekend away for two’.

Irish Wheelchair Association is a national organisation dedicated to the achievement of full social, economical and educational integration of people with disabilities as equal, independent and participative members of the community. This year all funds raised by local ladies will help fund vital services provided by IWA in North Dublin. The IWA Resource and Outreach Centre is situated on Blackheath Drive, Clontarf Dublin 3, and operates services five days a week for approximately 100 people with physical disabilities living in the surrounding local areas
