RTE interview with the Vernon Avenue Heroes
Congratulations to the Vernon Avenue heroes, Rowan and Tara Butler for the brave rescue recently. Attached is a podcast link for their interview on the RTE Mooney Show podcast. Rescue actually took place on the Clontarf Seafront (not Howth as mentioned in clip).
It is important that people do ring 112/999 and ask for the Coast Guard for incidents on Beach or Water in the area. As radio piece mentions the Coast Guard and the RNLI lifeboats would prefer to be on their way to an incident and turned back than be called too late. It is also of great importance importance to leave ringbuoys on the seafront there ready and available for use for emergencies such as the rescue last March.
