Rory McDyer - R.I.P.

24 Sep 2015

Yesterday morning we heard the very sad news that local businessman, Rory McDyer had passed away after a short illness.

Rory had this year celebrated 25 years in business in Clontarf with his very popular travel agency, Rory McDyer Travel located on the lower end of the Clontarf Road.

Rory was a member of the Clontarf Business Association since its inception and earlier this year joined the CBA committee. He was always a very active member of the Association, never slow to volunteer to throw on the bib for a street clean up or to steward an event.

Anyone who knew Rory will remember what great company he was. Always willing to stop and chat and discuss the affairs of the day. His customers will remember his great attention to providing a top notch service and his longevity in a tough business is a testament to that.

Rory was a great supporter of loveclontarf.ie. As well as being a sponsor, he made a point of telling other business owners about the website.

On behalf of the CBA, Karen Burrows, Chairperson has sympathised with his family and we too would like to extend our deepest sympathies to his wife Marion and their three children Sinead, Maeve and Ronan.

The funeral arrangements are available on RIP.ie. Rory will be reposing at home on Thursday 24th September between 5pm and 8pm. Friday 25th September the removal to The Church of the Holy Child in Whitehall to arrive at 11.20am with funeral mass at 11.30am followed by burial at Dardistown Cemetery.
