Red Stables Festival | Saturday Sept 21st

30 Aug 2019

Something exciting is coming to the Red Stables...

For the first time, The Red Stables in St. Anne's Park will host it's very own festival!

Taking place on Saturday 21st September, Stable Ground (www.redstablesfestival.ie) is part of the Discover Ireland Taste the Island series of events. With St. Anne's park being part of the Dublin Bay Biosphere, it seems appropriate that the theme for the festival is the connection between food, nature and sustainability.

The programme is absolutely chock-full with fantastic events for all ages and includes;

  • Cooking demos with Rachel Allen
  • Free talks with environmental activists, journalists and entrepreneurs such as Dr Tara Shine, John Gibbons and chef JP McMahon
  • Free activities for children with OWLS (outdoor wildlife learning and survival),
  • Tours of the allotments and Dublin City Farm

The festival is a joint project by Dublin City Council Parks and Biodiversity, the lovely folks at Olive's Room with the support of all the users of the park, especially the allotment holders, Dublin City Farm, the Saturday Market and Happenings Outdoor Cinema - who will also be showing (ironically weather dependent) are "The Lorax" and  "Thank You for the Rain".

The festivities will finish up on Saturday evening with the Nighthawks Feast, which will be exactly that, a feast celebrating Irish produce from chef-owner of Olive's Room, Liam Moloughney. There will also be entertainment from comedian Kevin Gildea, spoken word poet John Cummins, singer-songwriter Jane Willow, Wexford band Corner-Boys, and Pearse McGloughlin and Nocturnes.

All information on the festival events can be found at www.redstablesfestival.ie where tickets to Rachel Allen demos and the Nighthawks feast can also be purchased.

Be sure to keep an eye out on the LoveClontarf.ie Facebook page in the two weeks leading up to the festival, where you can be in with the chance of winning tickets!
