Local charity Don Bosco Care play a huge role in the community by helping disadvantaged youths. The centre take in young people aged from 12-22 years who have been referred by the social services. The service was founded in 1978 by two priests, Fr Val Collier and Fr Vincent Diffley, following a newspaper report explaining how young people from disadvantaged backgrounds were often sleeping on the streets at a very young age. Don Bosco Care put a huge emphasis on education, as well as helping young people with mental health issues, learning disabilities and drug addiction.

Don Bosco Care Centre are appealing for your support this year during the VHI Women's Mini Marathon. It is really important to consider local charities when fundraising for the marathon.
