NTA Approves Clontarf to City Centre Cycleway

17 Dec 2020

Plans to connect Clontarf and the City Centre via a cycleway have been approved by the National Transport Authority.

The new cycling lane will go from Alfie Byrne Road to Talbot Street and will be nearly 5km in length. This project is set to take two years to build due to utilities having to be diverted along with services underground having to be dealt with. Construction will hopefully start in July 2021.

People have been asked to bear with the council due to the disruptions. It will be great to have a cycle lane into the City Centre that is segregated from cars! It will hopefully make it easier to get to and from work if there is less traffic. It might even inspire some of us to cycle to work!
