Notice to Readers | Fake Whatsapp Message Circulated
We would like to notify all readers of a fake message which has been passed around Whatsapp groups over the last number of days. The message warns residents about people calling to doors checking to see that the householder has an ID for the upcoming referendum. They then gain access and rob the house.
The Clontarf Residents' Association confirmed with the Guards today that the message is indeed fake and originated in South Africa. Anyone who receives the text should ignore it.
Nonetheless, we would like to remind readers to be cautious of strangers who call to their doors.
