Eat for Free with loveclontarf.ie continues this week with Moloughneys, an award-winning restaurant famous for their fresh and seasonal food. Moloughneys have kindly given us a FREE dinner-for-two voucher* to give away to one lucky reader! 

However, as it’s November, Moloughneys wanted to offer something extra for all the business people out there. Moloughneys regularly rotated menu is always up to date with what is in season. Their mouthwatering dishes are prepared fresh every day by the restaurants talented chefs. Here is a taster of some of the types of dishes you can expect on Moloughneys menu…

Starters include fresh salt & pepper squid with homemade tomato & chilli jam, black pudding & bramley apple tart and a fresh salad of caramelised beets and FiveMileTown goats cheese. 

Mains include daily fish specials based on the fisherman’s catch of the day, Gold River Farm lamb, Irish fillet steak and a mushroom ravioli drizzled in truffle oil. The slow roast pork belly with bacon and cider gratin remains a firm favourite, as does their traditional roast pheasant, served with delicious vegetables, herb stuffing and cranberry and port jus. 

Moloughneys won’t disappoint anyone with a sweet tooth either. Their famous dessert menu is full of mouthwatering flavours. From comforting classics like rice pudding with blackcurrant compote, sticky toffee pudding and lemon tart, to more adventurous dishes like egg nog crème brûlée, Moroccan orange and almond cake and poached pears with goats curd ice-cream. Their cheese board is another firm favourite amongst their regulars: a platter featuring the very best of Irish cheeses such as Knockanora oak smoked cheddar, Cashel Blue and Cooleeney Camembert. 

What Moloughneys pride themselves on most, however, is their dedication to using Irish ingredients. Moloughneys work with a huge amount of Irish suppliers, including many local Clontarf-based suppliers, to assure the quality and freshness of their food. All of the meat and eggs on the menu is guaranteed Irish produce.
