Mighty Matthew Charity Cycle 2016 Clontarf to Lahinch!

19 Jul 2016

Following the huge success of the 2015 Coast to Coast Cycle, the 2nd Annual Mighty Matthew Coast to Coast Charity Cycle will again set off on August 19th from Clontarf, headed all the way across the country to Ballinasloe & Lahinch on the Atlantic West Coast!

Background

The cycle is in aid of the Mighty Matthew Trust. This is a fund which was set up in 2014 to help Matthew Hayes get the assistance and interventions he needs. Matthew was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder at the age of 3. He is 17 now, and he and his family face many difficult situations in everyday life. The fund allows for things such as giving Matthew access a reliable and qualified carer to bring him on regular outings throughout the week, providing respite for his family, and important services like speech and occupational therapy.

The Cycle

The number of cyclists has almost doubled this year, with 66 having signed up already for the trip. They will be setting off on the 19th of August from Vernon avenue with a Garda Escort to the Phoenix Park, from there they will be headed to Ballinasloe in Galway where they will stop off for the night before heading to the Cliff's of Moher and their eventual destination Lahinch.

If you want to be a part of the Mighty Matthew Team, you can sign up for the cycle and join in on their training by emailing <mightymatthewcycle@gmail.com>
