There is something special about Clontarf; when we want to get something done, we come together to make it happen. That’s exactly the vibe behind North Bay Energy, a new Sustainable Energy Community (SEC) led by a team of local volunteers right here in our community.
Their mission? To make Clontarf more sustainable and energy-efficient for all of us. Whether you’re a resident curious about solar panels or a local business owner looking to slash those rising energy bills, they’re here to help guide the way.
What’s on the Agenda?
North Bay Energy is hitting the ground running with some fantastic initiatives:
Energy Master Plan: Developing a roadmap for our community’s energy future.
Funding & Grants: Helping locals secure the support needed for energy projects.
Education: Running workshops on retrofitting, electric vehicles and renewables.
Calling All Local Businesses & Clubs!
Did you know that local businesses, schools and sports clubs with energy bills over €10,000 per year can apply for a free energy audit from SEAI? Valued at €2,000, it’s a brilliant way to see exactly where you can save.
For those looking at the roof and thinking about getting solar panels, their Solar Meitheal is a must-join. By grouping together, local businesses can access better rates from vetted installers and tap into supports from LEO or Enterprise Ireland that could cover up to 50% of the cost.
