Major Restoration Underway for Clontarf's Iconic Harry Clarke Memorial Window

If you have taken a stroll past the Clontarf & Scots Presbyterian Church recently, you might have noticed some serious work getting underway.

The church’s historic Harry Clarke Memorial Window is currently undergoing a major, much-needed overhaul to preserve it for generations to come.

Commissioned back in 1919 to honor local lives lost during the First World War, the magnificent stained-glass window is one of Clontarf’s finest artistic treasures. To make sure it stays that way, specialists are taking down the entire window for a deep clean and full refurbishment. At the same time, experts are carrying out a complete structural investigation on the end wall holding the window to make sure everything remains safe and sound for the long haul.

Restoring national heritage like this doesn't come cheap! The overall cost of the project is estimated to be well into six figures, making it a massive undertaking for the local church community.
