Local Family on RTEs BIG DIY Challenge!

05 May 2021

Be sure to tune in to RTÉ One tomorrow night to catch locals The Smyth Family (Trevor, Krissi and their TWO sets of twins) and Orlagh Doogue on The BIG DIY Challenge!

The concept of the new show, hosted by previous Clontarf resident PJ Gallagher (so it's bound to be funny too!) is simple, people across Ireland compete to complete a big DIY project over 10 days, in order to win a Grand Prize of €10,000!!

In March this year, The Smyths and Orlagh entered the competition, deciding to work on restoring a boat, Erisky (Westerly Centaur) back to glory. Back in 2019 the boat broke its moorings in a gale in Clontarf and went a ground, damaged beside The Baths in 2019. Both the Smyths and Orlagh are members of Clontarf Yacht & Boat Club so they are passionate about their project.

The show will run over 6 weeks, every Thursday on RTÉ ONE @ 8.30 pm until the 10th June. There is a viewers vote prize for the best project so please, tune in and support these locals!
