Local Councillor elected Lord Mayor
Last night, Local Fine Gael councillor, Naoise Ó Múirí was elected as Lord Mayor, taking over from current Mayor Andrew Montague.
Naoise is well known to local residents as he was first elected to Dublin City Council in 2004. Southside-based, Fine Gael Councillor Clare Byrne was elected Deputy Lord Mayor.
In his speech, Naoise outlined his priorities in the coming year include setting in place the foundation blocks for Dublin to become a “truly leading city in all things digital for young and old”; putting “the right structures in place now to ensure that Dublin is well-promoted at home and abroad”.
We would like to wish Naoise every success in this important role in the coming year.
