Leinster Womens Squad vs Connacht Sat 7th December

04 Dec 2013

Saturday 30th November kicked off the first of three matches to be played, in the Women's Interprovincial Rugby Series. The Leinster Squad has put in tremendous passion, determination and grit in the lead up to the Interprovincial Competitions. Captained by Marie Louise Reilly, the team beat both Connacht 12-0, and the Exiles 19-0, in pre competition friendlies. They executed true skill, creativity & drive against Ulster on Saturday in the first Interprovincial match; it was champagne rugby resulting in a winning score line of 41-7 to Leinster.

Clontarf is sure to be championing, what is a household name, Fiona Coghlan. Proud to be born and reared in Clontarf & currently teaching in Lucan Community College, she boasts an impression Rugby career thus far. She has achieved 11 All Ireland league titles with UL Bohs, 2 Interprovincial Titles and last year was part of the Irish Six Nations Grand Slam Title winners.

There must be something in the water as she shares some amazing similarities with another of our sporting heroes. Fiona Coghlan and Brian O'Driscoll are both Clontarf natives, and have captained both Leinster and their national sides!

Ashbourne RFC are hosting the only home game of the Women's Interprovincial Series,  Leinster vs. Connacht in Ashbourne RFC on Saturday the 7th of December, KO 4:30pm.

This is the one and only home game for Leinster, so we’re calling all Leinster Supporters to come out, and get behind the Women in Blue! This is an almighty battle not to be missed.

Can they repeat the U18 Leinster girls success in a clean sweep? See what they can showcase against Connacht on home ground this Saturday! Will Fiona add a second Interprovincial Win since 2011, to her list of achievements?

Entry is €5 for adults & U18s go free!!
