Launch of Irish Cancer Society Volunteer Driver Service

10 Oct 2019

The Irish Cancer Society Volunteer Driver Service was launched at Beaumont Hospital on Wednesday 9th October 2019. A Clontarf Residents’ Association committee representative attended the launch on behalf of the community. This countrywide service was created in response to some patients’ needs.  Last year over 1,000 patients with 12,500 Chemotherapy appointments availed of this free support service from these 'Angels of Mercy'.

If you would consider becoming involved in this very worthwhile initiative please ring the Irish Cancer Society at 01 2310522 or email them at travel@irishcancer.ie.

Full training will be given together with Garda Vetting and an Interview process. Once training is complete ongoing support will be available to all drivers.

Minimum voluntary requirement: 2 full days/month.
