Irish Astronomical Society - New Season of Public Observing!

14 Sep 2015

The Irish Astronomical Society, Sidewalk Astronomers section are gearing up for another season of public observing!

The Dublin Sidewalk Astronomers was founded c. 1989, and is the name of the Irish Astronomical Society (IAS) activity, whereby members regularly bring their telescopes literally to the streets to show the public the wonders of the heavens!

Last year the Sidewalk Astronomers had an excellent response to their events and they hope that more northsiders will join them this season, to view the skies through their modern telescope.

The location for this season of obsevation is once again, the carpark opposite the Clontarf Yacht & Boat Club on the Clontarf Road.

The public observing dates are as follows;

2015: 19th Sep. / 24th Oct. / 21. Nov / 19th Dec.

2016: 16th Jan. / 13th Feb. / 19th March / 16th April / 14th May

All event dates fall on a Saturday and commence at 20:00hrs, they are weather dependant and completely FREE of charge!
