IMPORTANT: Beach Contamination Notice

21 Nov 2014

loveclontarf.ie just received notice that Dollymount Beach (between the Wooden Bridge and Causeway) has been contaminated with medical syringes and needles.

About a dozen needles were found on the beach yesterday, and they were immediately handed in to the Council. It was also reported to the EPA.

Since the incident was reported, Dublin City Council have had people out on the beach collecting the needles. They are really making a heroic effort to clean up the area and make it safe once again - they even have people out collecting today in the rain. It is understoof that the needles came from a "sharps box" that most likely washed in from the water and broke open on the beach.

We urge everyone to share this information and avoid this area for the time being. Spread the word and stay safe!
