UPDATE ON FLOOD DEFENCES FOR CLONTARF PROMENADE

In December 2011, Dublin City Councillors unanimously rejected the DCC proposal for a flood defence along the 3km length of Clontarf Promenade.  They further called upon the City Manager to immediately begin planning a new Clontarf Flood Defence with full consultation with the public.

The attached report provides an update on the status of this process.  We would encourage you to read this update, along with the vision and roadmap document.  If you have comments or questions, we invite you to email floodproject@loveclontarf.ie  Your views are important inputs into this process.

SURVEY OF PROMENADE USE AND PUBLIC OPINION

In October 2012 the CRA/CBA conducted a survey to gather the views of residents and the wider community who use the Clontarf Promenade.  The purpose was to measure awareness of the risk of flood, the use of the promenade and the priorities people place on the amenity.  The results of this survey are available by clicking this link and its findings have been input into the Clontarf Promenade Development and Flood Defence project.
