Hollybrook Road Clean Up - Great Success

19 Feb 2012

Hollybrook Road, Clontarf - Clean up operationHollybrook Road hasn't looked as well for quite a while!

This is as a result of a joint clean-up operation yesterday morning organised by local Clontarf residents and Dublin City Council. It involved moving all cars off the road for a short period of time to allow a road cleaning crew from DCC to have full access to the road.

There was great co-operation from local residents and that meant that the road was fully cleaned over a 2 hour period.

This is a great example of how we can make better use of the resources offered by DCC while being mindful of the budget constraints in DCC. With many roads in Clontarf clogged with parked cars throughout the week, it is not possible to organise an efficient clean-up using a cleaning truck. Therefore it can only happen with some formal collaboration with residents.

Well done to the organisers who included committee members of the Clontarf Business Association, David Doran and Jim Scully and also to the DCC team.
