Gavin Brennan nominated for Freemasons Young Musician of the Year
Gavin Brennan of Clontarf has recently been nominated for the Freemasons Young Musician of the Year award by the Conservatory of Music.
Gavin, aged 21, began studying classical saxophone in 2001 and enrolled part-time in DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama the following year. He is currently studying performance in his final year of the Bachelor of Music programme at DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama.
Gavin had a very successful year in 2011 which included winning the Feis Ceoil Contemporary Irish Music Cup, playing at the National Concert Hall in the spring with the DIT Wind Ensemble and in the summer with the Irish Youth Wind Ensemble, and performing at Electric Picnic with the Trinity Orchestra.
