Gardai Called to Castle Following Recording of The People's Debate

09 Sep 2015

Gardaí were called to the Clontarf Castle on Monday 7th of September, following the recording of TV3's The People's Debate with Vincent Browne.

The show was being pre-recorded in the hotel, but became frenzied following the mocking of Richard Bruton, Minister for Jobs, and Equality Minister Áodhan O' Riordáin by a number of audience members.

A female member of the audience also claimed to have been intimidated by another member of the audience after applauding points made by one of the Government Ministers.

Although Gardaí were called when a member of staff at the Castle became concerned a protest may breakout, a Garda spokesperson said that there was no major incidents and no one was arrested.
