Flood Alert In Clontarf Wednesday and Friday

Press Release from Dublin City Council: " There are forecast for very high tides next Wednesday (Today) at 11am and next Friday (4th Jan) at 12.33pm.

Sandbags will be installed and maintained in place at strategic locations in Clontarf (near Alfie Byrne Road) and Sandymount from today until next Friday.

Carparks in Sandymount and Clontarf will be closed to the public during this period. Dublin City Council apologises to the public for any inconvenience caused by these works. Property owners at risk of tidal flooding particularly in the Clontarf and Sandymount areas are advised to protect their properties. Suitable guidance on flood protection measures can be found on the website www.flooding.ie

A review will take place on Thursday to see if the period of flood defence needs to be extended. We apologise to the public for any inconvenience due to these essential works."
