Ellen Keane Preparing for Paralympics

Ellen Keane and Naoise O MuiríNext week, on the 29th of August, the opening ceremony for the 2012 Paralympics will take place in London. 

Clontarf resident and Irish Paralympian Ellen Keane will not be at the opening ceremony, because her first race takes place the next day. 

Ellen is competing in three events: the 100m Butterfly, the 200m Individual Medley, and the 100m Breast Stroke. These are the times for each one, all of which can be watched on Setanta Sports:

  • 30th August, 100m Butterfly - Heats: 10:50 - 11:00 am. Finals: 7:15 - 7:25 pm.
  • 6th September, 200m Individual Medley - Heats: 9:40 - 10:00 am. Finals: 5:35 - 5:45 pm.
  • 8th September, 100m Breast Stroke - Heats: 9:40 - 9:50 am. Finals 5:35 - 5:45 pm.

Ellen recently had a farewell party in the Rugby Club which was attended by the Lord Mayor along with a large crowd of well wishers. See photos below
