CYBC Adult Introduction to Sailing Course

Are you interested in sailing? Have you often seen people out on their boats and wondered what it might be like? If so, the Clontarf Yacht & Boat Club have the perfect opportunity for you to try your hand at sailing! 

The CY&BC will run their Adult Introduction to Sailing Course from May 12th - 17th 2016. This course is a great chance for budding sailors to get their first taste of riding the waves, with the majority of the course taking place on the water. This is a simple, fun and friendly course to help you start learning the ropes - and you don’t need any sailing experience to to take part!

The course dates and start times are as follows;

  • Thursday 12th May - 7pm
  • Friday 13th May - 7pm
  • Saturday 14th May - 5pm
  • Sunday 15th May - 5.30pm
  • Monday 16th May - 7pm
  • Tuesday 17th May - 7pm

The course then finishes up with a Rookie Race & BBQ on Saturday 21st May!

The cost of this course is €200, which includes;

  • An introduction of sailing
  • Principles of sailing
  • Safety
  • Weather
  • On the water experience (most evenings)
  • Practical demonstrations
  • Information handout/booklet
  • End of course certificate

All successful trainees receive a certificate which is presented at the celebratory end of course BBQ, where trainees also have the opportunity to mingle with other sailors and arrange further sailing experiences.
