Creating Our Future - Let’s get involved

The Government is encouraging the people of Clontarf (and all of Ireland too) to come up with ideas for the future.

The Creating Our Future campaign was launched this summer by the Taoiseach and Minister of Further and Higher Education Simon Harris TD. It involves the people of Ireland in a conversation on the role research can and should play in addressing opportunities, challenges and hopes for the future.

The campaign is the first of its kind here in Ireland. It is inspired by similar exercises conducted in Flanders and the Netherlands in recent years. All the ideas will be compiled, filtered, and analysed by independent experts from a broad range of backgrounds.

The COVID-19 pandemic showed the importance and value of research and innovation in our lives.  But it’s time to consider the future, and that’s what the Government is asking Clontarf residents. The ideas from the public will inspire research projects that make a positive impact on our wellbeing, and may specifically focus on Clontarf and our surrounding areas.

This work will result in the public inputs received being shaped into a report for Government, along with expert commentary and recommendations.

Clontarf residents should submit them through the dedicated online portal creatingourfuture.ie, which is open until the end of November 2021.

It could also be worth organising a meeting with your neighbours and friends to see what ideas might be best for our area specifically – the Government are encouraging us to do so.

At Love Clontarf, we would encourage you to have a look.
