CRA Statement | Cocooner Only Times for Parks
)
Update from Clontarf Residents' Association on Clontarf Cocoon
We are delighted at the response we have had to Clontarf Cocoon. Lots of people have volunteered to help and lots of people have asked for help. It is wonderful to see such community spirit. If you are cocooning please remember, it’s never too late to contact us if you need assistance.
On another positive note, those who have been cocooning are now allowed to leave their homes for the purposes of fresh air and exercise. They must remain within 5km of their home and maintain physical distancing.
The four Dublin Local Authorities have designated 1.30 pm to 3.30 pm as Cocooner Only Times in their parks. From Wednesday 6th May, these times are dedicated to Over 70s and medically vulnerable people. Other park users are asked to give cocooners this time so that will have as much space as possible and so that they can have confidence that physical distancing is possible.
We would ask all residents to bear this in mind when they are planning trips to St Anne’s, the Promenade and Dollymount. We have confirmed with DCC that both the Beach and the Prom are considered to be Parks.
We have seen some wonderful initiatives organised by individuals, local clubs and groups of neighbours. Please send on your images and stories about how you are coping with lockdown and we will try to share as many as possible on LoveClontarf.ie.
“Gardening for Biodiversity” is a new free booklet aimed at encouraging people to develop more wildlife-friendly gardens. It can be downloaded here. It’s a lovely booklet with lots of great information and projects aimed at beginners and the more advanced DIYers. Again, we’d love to see photos of any projects you undertake.
We would also like to take this opportunity to offer our condolences to the families of those who have lost loved ones in these difficult times. Please know that your friends and neighbours are with you in spirit.
Stay safe and well. We are all in this together.
