Clontarf Yacht and Boat Club Adult Course May 20th-24th
Are you interested in sailing? Have you often seen people out in their boats and wondered what it might be like? Well the opportunity is here for you to try it out at Clontarf Yacht and Boat Club.
Clontarf Yacht and Boat Club run an Adult Introduction to Sailing Course every May and they dedicate a week of sailing to budding trainees. They also get great satisfaction in introducing new people to the sport they love.
Clontarf Yacht and Boat Club keep it simple, fun and friendly! They spend the majority of the course on the water helping you to start learning the ropes. No experience in sailing is required. Visit their website for full details.
The course is run over the evenings of 20th to 23rd May @ 7pm and a full day on Saturday 24th May and includes:
- An introduction to sailing: principles of sailing, safety & weather
- On the water experience (most evenings)
- Practical demonstrations
- Information handout/booklet
- End of course certificate
All successful trainees receive a certificate which is presented at the celebratory end of course barbeque where trainees can mingle with other sailors and arrange further sailing experiences.

Junior Section
Their Junior Sailing Programme is packed full of everything young sailors need to succeed. Clontarf Yacht & Boat Club pioneered junior sailing in Dublin and their first junior course was way back in 1964 and still going strong today. Our course runs throughout July.
Social Membership is another option if you would like to be part of the social events in the Club. Clontarf Yacht and Boat Club hold barbeques, quizzes, music gigs, race nights, trad music nights, family days, snooker competitions, walking club and cycle trips and lots, lots more!
