Clontarf Winger Signs for Doncaster Knights
After publishing our recent story about Evan Finnegan signing for Doncaster Rovers, we found out about another young Clontarf man heading for Doncaster, this time the sport is rugby.
21 year old Michael Keating signed a season long contract with Doncaster Knights earlier this year and headed off by ferry to Doncaster on a very wet Sunday 12th June to begin pre season training.
For three years Keating has been a well known no 11 winger for Clontarf’s senior team. He has been a member of the Leinster academy. He had one year left in the Leinster academy, however it was proving very difficult to break into such a spectacular Leinster senior side.
Michael took a year out from his business degree in DCU, as his follow students headed off on work experience the year he chose to follow his Rugby passion. He did not travel alone. Four other Irish lads are also with Doncaster Knights. The Knights have great ambitions this year to get into the promotional play offs. They all received a wonderful welcome. Three of the lads moved into a three bedroom penthouse apartment over looking a lake.
They are kept very busy a they headed straight into intensive fitness training. Any spare time is spent playing golf and swimming. Tough, but someone has to do it!

As a nice addendum, we've heard from Michael's mother Susan that he has the contact details for Evan Finnegan, so maybe he can be of some help to his younger compatriot as he moves over this week.
