Clontarf Players Make It to the Drama Finals!

27 Mar 2023

Clontarf Players are thrilled to have made it to the final of the Bostik All Ireland Confined Drama Finals, with their production of Oscar Wilde's 'The Importance of Being Earnest'. 🎭

Following 6 performances in November and February at the Sean O’Casey Theatre in East Wall, the group embarked on the competition circuit with a further 8 performances spread across the four corners of Ireland. The group are delighted to have had 5 wins, putting them in 2nd place in the current league table and comfortably qualifying for the finals.

The festival circuit is co-ordinated by the Amateur Drama Council of Ireland (ADCI) on an annual basis and the festivals showcase the best amateur theatre groups from all over Ireland. This year, the final of the Confined section competition will be held in Glenamaddy, Co. Galway, from April 13th to 21st with the awards night on Saturday 22nd April.

The group would like to thank all who have come to see their productions and supported them throughout the years. As 2023 is their first foray into the All Ireland competitions, the support from the local community has been very encouraging.

Clontarf Players would also like to again thank their generous sponsors:

  • Teeling Whiskey
  • Stafford's Funeral Home
  • Cian O'Callaghan T.D.
