Clontarf Hospital, off Blackheath Park, has been operating as a rehabilitation/step-down facility for COVID patients after their stay in ICU. The unit has capacity for 48 patients who have experienced severe cases of coronavirus and who may have difficulty learning to walk, sit and stand again.

The Irish Times published an article today on the wonderful work being done to help those seriously affected, recover from coronavirus right here in Clontarf. You can read about it here

The team at Clontarf Hospital have set up a Go Fund Me page, to raise money to buy tablets for the patients - so they can have virtual visits with their friends and family members as none of them can have any visitors at present. Recovering can be particularly lonely and traumatic after spending time intubated in ICU with no loved ones present and being unable to talk.

The team are almost halfway to their €5000 goal. If you can support, please do, by visiting www.gofundme.ie
