Clontarf Gears Up for #Gimme1000 in Aid of Pieta & Irish Cancer Society
A couple of Clontarf GAA's senior players have come together to organise an amazing fundraising event in aid of Pieta and the Irish Cancer Society, taking place this Saturday 20th February.
The event is called #Gimme1000! And will challenge participants to complete 1,000 reps of any exercise of their choice within 24 hours. So what does that mean? Well, if you've got upper body strength, what about 1000 push-ups throughout the day? Or you could do 1000 squats at intervals from morning to night? If the weather is fine you could get out for a 10km walk OR walk you 10,000 steps.
Some teams in the Club are virtually coming together to do a combined distance of 1000km over the 24 hours, and some are setting up Zoom training sessions and picking 10 exercises and completing 100 reps of each.
You can donate to support the Club's overall effort to raise €10k for Pieta & Irish Cancer Society here. Or set up your own donation page, or team page on TrainM8.com (a website set up by locals Conor McGinn, Robert Connolly and Declan Monaghan) where you'll find more information on the campaign!
