Clontarf Business Association wins a Community Award from Dublin City Council

07 Sep 2012

Some very nice recognition for Clontarf Business Association this morning as they have received an award for the Best Waste Management Initiative in the Dublin City Neighbourhood Awards for 2012.

The award reflects on the efforts of the CBA in the planning and organising of street cleaning events in Clontarf in conjunction with Dublin City Council.

The CBA started the initiative and it was also well supported by individual residents and residents groups within Clontarf. Many of the CBA committee were involved but the scheme was especially spearheaded by David Doran (vice-Chairman) and Jim Scully.

David Doran commented "We are very pleased to receive the award on behalf of the whole community in Clontarf. The project was enjoyable to work on and it has made a real difference on the roads in question in terms of making them better able to cope with the risk of rainwater flooding. I would personally like to thank all of the residents groups and individual residents that got behind us to ensure that the project was a success. I would also like to thank Elaine Mulvenny and Dermot Johnson of Dublin City Council for their continued support in Clontarf'.
