Clontarf Business Association Race Night
The Clontarf Business Association held a very successful race night last week in Connolly's The Sheds.
There was a large turnout from amongst the CBA membership and many others besides. Lots of tight finishes in all of the races made for much shouting and roaring.
There was also a private members draw on the night which had a first prize of a trip to the European Championship in June. The winner of the prize was Fred Cleary, owner of the Mace shop on St. Gabriel's Road. The winning ticket was sold by Gus O'Hara from Spar.
Another winner on the night was local builder Michael Murphy who won the final 'Auction' race and walked away with about €250.
A great night was had by all and some much needed funds were raised to support CBA activities including the Summer festival which will take place again this year in June.
Well done to the organisers, ticket sellers, 'tote' operators and all who attended.
