Cillian Kirwan from Clontarf to start Olympic torch relay
Many residents are disappointed that the Olympic torch will not be traveling through Clontarf on its relay from Howth this week.
However, there is great consolation in that 16 year old transition year student, Cillian Kirwan from Dollymount Avenue will be the first to carry the torch on the relay which starts in Howth next Wednesday morning.
Cillian is an accomplished junior athlete and is a transition yeat student at St. Fintan's High School in Sutton. In an interview with the Evening Herald he said:
"It's going to be a brilliant experience. It's fantastic. I'm thrilled that I got picked to do it."
Well done Cillian and enjoy every minute of this fantastic experience.
