Bull Island Action Group - Sat 21st January!

20 Jan 2017

The first Bull Island Action Group Monthly Beach Clean Up for 2017 will take place this Saturday, 21st January.

Those wishing to volunteer are asked to arrive at the entrance to Dollymount Strand (just past Royal Dublin Golf Club) at 10:45 AM, in order to begin the clean up at 11 AM

Dublin City Council will provide a tractor and trailer, plus a driver, to remove and dispose of all the rubbish collected by volunteers. The Dublin Port Company will provide litter-picking equipment, such as litter-pickers, bin bag hoops, rubbish bags and gloves.

If numbers allow, the intention is to send a sizeable group down to the causeway where there is a heavy accumulation of litter below the roadway embankment on the lagoon side. This terrain is quite rough so please be prepared.Sturdy footwear and thick socks are essential and rubber boots are always a good idea.

Saturday will be dry with quite a cool temperature of 6 C and a gentle breeze. Volunteers are advised to wrap up well.

This is a great opportunity to make a difference in our community and keep Clontarf looking beautiful!
