Bull Island Action Group Monthly Clean-Up

Keeping our beaches clean is essential to preserving their beauty and protecting the wildlife that lives there. Join the Bull Island Action Group this Saturday, March 18th, from 11.00 am to 13.00 pm for the Beach clean-up for 2023 on Dollymount Beach.

Time: We always start work at 11:00 a.m., so please try to arrive 15 minutes early.

Place: We meet at the entrance to Dollymount Strand, just past Royal Dublin Golf Club at our storage container behind the Happy Out Café.

Duration: 2 hours. 


Equipment: Litter pickers, bag hoops, hi-vis vests and rubbish bags are provided. Please remember to bring your own work gloves. Hand sanitiser will be provided before and after the cleanup.


Work Areas: The beach, the sand dunes, the inner shore, and the causeway, if we have enough volunteers. We will conduct an inspection on Friday in order check which areas need to be prioritised.


DCC: Dublin City Council provides a tractor and trailer plus a driver to haul away what we pick up.


Weather: The forecast is to be cloudy and cool with a gentle breeze from the southwest. Some rain is expected i the afternoon. Maximum temperature will be 9-12 C. Source: https://www.yr.no/en . Applying sunscreen is advisable. Wearing wellies or boots is always a good idea. Bring a rain jacket with you.


Tide: High water will be at 08:35 - height 3.53m.
Low water will be at 14:39 - height 0.93m.

Beaches are one of the most beautiful places to spend time, but theyre also incredibly vulnerable to pollution so let's do our bit and pull together to keep Dollymount free from litter and enjoy our fabulous local beach.
