Battle of Clontarf Schools Art Competition

12 Mar 2014

Clontarf Historical Society and Raheny Heritage Society are delighted to announce their Schools Art Competition to mark the millennium anniversary of the Battle of Clontarf. This competition is being run in conjunction with primary and secondary schools in Clontarf, Raheny and invited schools in Dublin 3 and Dublin 5. Selected schools in Killaloe, Cashel, Armagh and East Galway have also been invited to participate.

None of this would be possible without the support of our sponsors; Clontarf Residents' Association and Nolan's of Clontarf. Clontarf Residents' Association is one of the oldest RA's in Dublin and it represents the 18,000 residents of Clontarf. At the heart of our community is Nolan's supermarket, who are celebrating sixty years in business this millennium year.

This competition is on the theme of Clontarf 1014-2014. Each school will select the category winners and these will then go on to the national finals for judging.

The closing date for the competition is Wednesday 26th March and the winners will be exhibited at Clontarf Castle on Easter Monday, 21st April 2014.
