Applications for Clothing and Footwear Allowances
Applications for clothing and footwear allowances for the coming school year can be submitted up to the end of September. The payment rates for the 2012 Back to School Clothing and Footwear Allowance scheme are €150 in respect of children aged 4 to 11 on 30th September 2012 and €250 for children aged 12 to 22 on 30th September 2012.
Families who received the payment in the past may have received this year’s payment already. But if you think you might be eligible, applications are available in all social welfare local offices and online at www.welfare.ie. You can also request a form by texting FORM BTSCFA followed by your address to 51909.
While applications are accepted up until the end of September, apply now as it may take several weeks to process an application.
