Anti-Bullying Message from loveclontarf.ie

26 Aug 2014

Heading back to school is an exciting time of year for children. But, unfortunately, for some kids, heading back to school represents a return to physical and / or emotional abuse.

Bullying is an imbalance of power between the bully and the victim and involves attacks or intimidation with the intimidation to cause fear, distress or harm. Victims of bullying often suffer mental health problems such as depression and anxiety, not to mention physical injury.

loveclontarf.ie would like to make a plea to all parents on behalf of victims of bullying to tell their kids:

If you see someone struggling to make friends or being bullied because he or she:

  • doesn’t have many friends
  • is dressed differently
  • isn’t as pretty as someone else
  • or for any other reason

PLEASE step up.

Stick up for them, invite them to your group, say hi or at least smile at them in the hallway. You never know what emotional problems the person might be facing as a result of being bullied.

Your kindness might just make a BIG difference in someone’s life!
